Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on the topic of banking operations in mahallas and increasing citizens' incomes, as reported by the president's press service.
This year, it is planned to provide stable employment for 5.2 million Uzbeks, including 3 million with the support of credit organizations. Their leaders have signed cooperation agreements in the area of employment with the khokims of all cities and districts.
The documents outline target indicators for lending, business project development, and employment for each mahalla, as well as for district banking branches. As part of the "Mahalla Loyihasi" program, $1 billion has been allocated for loan issuance between banks and regions.
By February 1, special departments for interaction with mahallas will be established at bank branches, where "mahalla bankers" will work. Local assistants-agents will collaborate with them.
Branches, in conjunction with district khokimiyats, will organize the engagement of citizens in ready-made business projects and provide training in entrepreneurial skills. The chairman of the Central Bank, Timur Ishmetov, and his deputies are responsible for establishing operations based on the new approach.
To ensure prompt monitoring of task fulfillment, it is planned to integrate the Bank Kredit platform with the "Online Mahalla" system and the Tax Committee system. The performance of responsible individuals will be analyzed on a daily basis.
The head of state announced the introduction of "mahalla bankers" during a meeting on employment and poverty reduction held in December. It is expected that these employees will work with citizens to develop business plans, assist them in obtaining loans, help launch enterprises, and facilitate product sales.
The district banking branches are tasked with working with entrepreneurs on an individual basis and solving their problems. Khokims will need to provide land and infrastructure for the projects.
Earlier, Spot reported on plans to attract $6 billion from foreign organizations for business loans.
