The Deputy Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, Umid Mamadaminov, held a working meeting with representatives of companies that operate electric vehicle charging stations in Tashkent, as reported by the ministry's press service.
Минэнерго Узбекистана провело переговоры с операторами зарядных станций для электромобилей.

The key issue of the meeting was the disconnection of electric charging stations in the capital from the grid. Representatives of charging station operators and responsible officials provided clarifications regarding the problems that had arisen.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy reiterated that the agency had not issued any orders to suspend the operation of electric charging stations and supports their development.

At the same time, entrepreneurs were reminded of the necessity to strictly adhere to the requirements of current legislation.
As a result of the discussions, it was agreed to hold regular meetings between business representatives and official structures.

After exchanging opinions, the parties reached a number of agreements, the details of which are not yet disclosed.
It is worth noting that in mid-December 2024, reports emerged about the forced disconnection of several electric vehicle charging stations in Uzbekistan.

At that time, the Ministry of Energy stated that no restrictions had been imposed by the agency on the operation of electric charging stations and that it advocates for the development of infrastructure for electric vehicles in the country.

A deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Nuriddin Sultonov, submitted an official request to the Ministry of Energy and the Cadastre Agency demanding clarification of the situation.

On January 2, 2025, the Ministry of Energy acknowledged that raids had indeed taken place in December, resulting in the disconnection of some electric charging stations. However, thanks to the agency's intervention, their operation was promptly restored.
