It has been noted that efforts are underway to stabilize gas production volumes through the implementation of joint projects with foreign companies. With the involvement of modern technologies, plans include drilling new wells and repairing existing operational ones.
The main issue facing the industry has been the long-standing neglect of geological exploration, which has resulted in the near depletion of reserves in certain fields and low efficiency in others. To address this shortcoming, geological exploration will commence in 15 promising areas, and the area for seismic exploration will be expanded to 6,500 square kilometers.
The President has tasked the development of a program for the advancement of geology and the exploration of new fields by 2025, with the participation of major international companies and experts.
The transformation of JSC "Uzbekneftegaz" will continue. Key objectives include reducing production costs and improving the company's international credit rating. In 2025, international investments are expected to be attracted to finance geological exploration and production projects.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of staffing in the industry. Instructions have been given to enhance the quality of specialist training, create conditions for the return of qualified compatriots working abroad, and attract foreign experts.
These measures are aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of the gas sector and increasing its contribution to the economy of Uzbekistan.
