Tuychiev expressed concern regarding the effectiveness of subsidies in the context of transitioning to market principles and inquired about how this would affect tariffs in the future.
Kuchkarov acknowledged the issue with tariffs and subsidies, highlighting the significant price differences between regions. He emphasized that the tariffs for thermal energy in Tashkent and other cities, such as Bukhara and Fergana, vary greatly.
The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed out technological issues, such as outdated equipment and low gas utilization efficiency.
He added that the decision to increase tariffs in Tashkent by two times – in spring and autumn – next year would be insufficient to cover actual costs, and it would be necessary to continue subsidizing this sector from the republican budget.
It is worth noting that it was previously reported that tariffs for heating and hot water supply in Tashkent will be raised by 15% two times in 2025.
