Customs officials from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan held discussions.

Delegations from the customs services of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan held a meeting at the International Trade Center in Termez, situated on the border between the two countries.
Таможенные службы Узбекистана и Афганистана провели встречу для обсуждения совместных вопросов и сотрудничества.

The main focus of the discussion was on issues related to the activities of Afghan entrepreneurs going through customs control, as well as currency operations, certification of permits, and increasing trade volumes. Opinions, proposals, and remarks on these matters were exchanged.

Additionally, during the meeting, gratitude was expressed for the warm and friendly relations between the two countries, which Uzbekistan actively supports.

The International Trade Center "Termiz" serves as a free trade zone on the border of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, facilitating the development of economic ties between the two nations. Measures are continuously being taken at the center to improve conditions for citizens and entrepreneurs from both sides.

It was noted that currently, more than 2,000 Afghan citizens visit the trade zone daily. Despite the center having only begun operations in August 2024, exports of goods to Afghanistan through the center have reached 15.5 million US dollars.
