In Tashkent, discussions were held on enhancing the quality of packaging for fruit and vegetable products intended for export.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan held a roundtable discussion featuring fruit and vegetable producers, as well as manufacturers of cardboard boxes and plastic and paper packaging.

The event was attended by Davron Vakhabov, the chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, along with entrepreneurs and leading industry specialists. Participants shared their experiences and discussed the prospects for collaboration.

In 2024, food exports increased by $370 million compared to the previous year, surpassing $2 billion. Uzbekistan ranked third in the world for apricot exports, seventh for cherry and peach exports, and tenth for mung bean and other legume exports. Cherries are exported to 16 countries worldwide. In 2024, Uzbekistan produced over 16 million tons of vegetables and melons, 5 million tons of fruits and grapes, and 4 million tons of potatoes.

The round table was a significant step in enhancing Uzbekistan's export potential, providing entrepreneurs with a platform to exchange experiences and establish business contacts. The proposals and practical solutions developed will help improve packaging quality and increase the volume of fruit and vegetable exports.
