On December 5, 2024, the winners of the AFI AWARDS 2024 were announced. This year, AFI recognized the top 10 films and 10 outstanding television programs that the organization believes represent significant achievements in the field of cinematic arts. A special award was also given for exceptional works that did not meet the main criteria.

The AFI special award was presented for "The Calf of the Reindeer."
Bob Gazzale, President and CEO of AFI, noted that the AFI AWARDS is not a competition but a community that brings together artists to celebrate their contributions to culture. The award winners will gather at the annual private luncheon to be held on January 10, 2025, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles.
