Jared Leto has been cast as Skeletor in the upcoming adaptation of the legendary franchise "Masters of the Universe," according to Deadline. Alongside him, the cast will include actors who will portray key characters such as the warriors of Evil and the mysterious skull-faced sorcerer. Sam Wilson, known for his role in the series "House of the Dragon," will play Trap Jaw, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, recognized for the film "The Viking," will take on the role of Beast Man, and Koyo Atta, who participated in "Wrath of Man," will portray Tri-Klops. Alison Brie, star of the series "Freelance Bodyguard," will join the project as Evil-Lyn.
It was previously announced that the lead role of He-Man will be played by Nicholas Galitzine, while Idris Elba will portray General Duncan. Camila Mendes, known for "Riverdale," will play the warrior Teela.
The project is being produced by Amazon MGM and Mattel, with Travis Knight, who worked on "Bumblebee" and "Kubo and the Two Strings," directing the film. The premiere is scheduled for June 5, 2026, although details about the screenplay are still under wraps.
The "Masters of the Universe" franchise gained popularity in Russia thanks to the animated series "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" from the 1980s, which later received continuations and spin-off series.
