Meta has announced a new app called Edits for editing vertical videos. According to Instagram head Adam Mosseri, the iOS version will be available next month, while the Android launch is scheduled for later. However, the App Store lists a different release date—March 13.

Edits will feature a variety of creative tools, including sections for ideas and inspiration, a list of popular tracks, and a built-in camera. Users will be able to save drafts and share them with friends or collaborators.

Using the Edits camera, users can record videos up to 10 minutes long in 1080p resolution for uploading to Instagram. The app will also provide access to statistics on published videos and engagement analytics.

The launch of Edits coincided with a temporary ban on TikTok and CapCut in the U.S.—competing services from the Chinese company ByteDance. Despite this, the ban lasted less than a day. Following Donald Trump's announcement of a "return of TikTok," the app resumed functioning for users in the U.S., although it has yet to appear in digital stores.
