Tashkent, Uzbekistan – According to the Podrobno.uz news agency, the statistical agency under the President of Uzbekistan is being transformed into the National Statistical Committee. According to the Ministry of Justice, a number of priority areas for the reorganized structure have been defined.

Among them are the reduction of statistical reporting and the decrease of reporting burdens on businesses through the expansion of integration processes. The tasks of the statistical committee will also include ensuring the accuracy of data by creating a system for forming statistical indicators based on the principle of "from the neighborhood to the republic." Additionally, an information system called "Regional Statistics" will be launched by the end of 2025.

It has also been decided to eliminate the obligation to submit annual statistical reports starting from the reporting period following the results of 2025 for microfirms and small enterprises with fewer than 5 employees and an annual turnover of up to 2,000 BRV (750 million sums). These companies will submit statistical reports once every three years.

From January 1, 2026, several interactive services utilizing artificial intelligence will be implemented in statistical bodies. Among them is the interactive service "Advisor" for consultations with enterprises and organizations regarding reporting, as well as the consulting service "Analyst" for quick access to statistical data. Furthermore, a call center will be launched to conduct statistical monitoring via telephone.

Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, a branch of the Department of Economic Statistics of Tashkent State Economic University will be established at the National Statistical Committee.

Additionally, an Office for the Transformation of the National Statistical System will be created within the structure of the National Statistical Committee.

It will be responsible for implementing modern mechanisms in priority areas. This includes improving the methodology for assessing household incomes and their sources, which is necessary for internal and external users, developing methodologies for conducting micro-level observations and forming statistical indicators, as well as establishing an effective feedback system with users of statistical data based on a client-oriented principle.

It is worth noting that recently, Behzod Khamraev, who previously served as the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, was appointed as the Director of the Statistics Agency under the President of Uzbekistan.
