Over 48 kg of drugs, imported from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, have been seized.

As a result of a joint operation by the State Security Service in the Surkhandarya region and the regional Department of Internal Affairs, it was established that a resident of the Denau district, previously convicted for drug trafficking, smuggled narcotic substances from Tajikistan with the intent of selling them. During a search of his home, 576 g of heroin, 2 kg 447 g of opium, and 1 kg 913 g of hashish were discovered in the basement.

Additionally, his father, who has also been previously convicted for a similar crime, had 9 kg 62 g of hashish seized, along with 137,460 US dollars and 569.8 million sums, the origins of which were not confirmed.

The operation continued, resulting in the arrest of his older brother, who has a prior conviction for drug trafficking, and their accomplice residing in the Uzun district. In the latter's home, another 159,400 US dollars were found, the origins of which are also unknown.

Furthermore, with the assistance of the Border Troops of the State Security Service and the State Security Service of the Namangan region, an operation was conducted in the Yangikurgan district. A bus traveling the route "Yangikurgan - Namangan" was stopped for inspection. In the bags of two passengers, residents of this area, 19 kg 915 g of hashish were discovered.

The investigation established that these individuals smuggled drugs from Kyrgyzstan with the intent of further sale.

In another case recorded in the Andijan region, a previously convicted resident of the Marhamat district was apprehended. He attempted to collect 4 kg 931 g of opium and 9 kg 949 g of hashish that a Kyrgyz citizen had smuggled across the border. The apprehension was carried out by soldiers of the border troops of the State Security Service.

Criminal cases have been initiated against the aforementioned individuals under the appropriate articles of the Criminal Code, and the investigation is ongoing.
