The ban was introduced after amendments were made to the joint order of the Minister of Energy, the Chairman of the National Security Committee, the Minister of Finance, and the Minister of Internal Affairs.
There are exceptions: the export of lubricating oils, fuel in car fuel tanks within factory norms, and aviation fuel for scientific research and testing of additives is allowed with the approval of authorized bodies.
The restrictions do not apply to petroleum products sent as humanitarian aid by the decision of the government of Kazakhstan from September 29, 2024, to March 29, 2025.
The Ministry of Energy clarified that these measures are aimed at preventing fuel shortages in the domestic market.
The ban also includes the export of petroleum products by rail, except for supplies approved within the framework of supply plans, as well as for humanitarian aid and emergency response purposes from February 1 to March 29, 2025.
