On February 24, an open court session concluded at the Arnasai District Court regarding the criminal case of blogger Kobil Dusov from the Bostanlik District, reports the press service of the Supreme Court.
The court found the defendant's guilt fully substantiated based on the testimonies of the victims and witnesses, conclusions from the forensic linguistic examination, screenshots of recordings, as well as all collected, verified, and acknowledged evidence.
According to the verdict, Kobil Dusov was acquitted of the charges related to citizens M. Eshimkulov, O. Kamolova, and Sh. Khasanova, as no elements of a crime were established for these accusations.
However, the court found him guilty under articles 139 (Defamation) and 140 (Insult) of the Criminal Code concerning four victims — N. Yalgasheva, O. Kamolova, Sh. Khasanova, and S. Suyarova. Consequently, for the aggregate of crimes, he was sentenced to 1 year and 2 months of imprisonment to be served in a settlement colony.
The parties were also informed of their right to appeal to the court in civil proceedings for compensation for the material and moral damages incurred.
The first-instance verdict may be appealed in the appellate or cassation procedure within the established timeframe in the judicial panel for criminal cases of the Jizzakh Regional Court.
We remind you that on November 22, 2024, the Chilanzar District Court found Kobil Dusov guilty under article 140 of the Criminal Code and imposed a sentence of 1 year of freedom restriction. On January 24, 2025, the Yashnabad District Court replaced the remaining 11 months and 2 days of this sentence with imprisonment to be served in a settlement colony, as he systematically violated the restrictions and did not show signs of reform.
