Compensation for exporters' transportation expenses has been halted.

In Uzbekistan, the practice of subsidizing transportation costs for exporters using the state budget has been discontinued. This marks another step toward aligning trade regulations with the rules set by the World Trade Organization (WTO).
Компенсация транспортных расходов для экспортеров больше не предоставляется.

The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed a decree on December 27 aimed at aligning export support measures with WTO agreements.

According to the changes, the practice of compensating exporters for transportation costs related to road, air, and railway transport will be abolished.

Exporters will receive the stipulated subsidies and compensations for exports made until December 31, 2024. These payments will be completed by February 1, 2025.

The decree will take effect on January 1, 2025.

It is worth noting that previously, the state compensated 50% of transportation costs for exporters when exporting products. For these purposes, the following amounts were allocated:

  • 336 billion sums in 2022,
  • 509.9 billion sums in 2023,
  • 138.8 billion sums in 2024.
