Deported migrants will be able to stay in Costa Rica for up to six weeks, after which they will be sent back to their home country. They will be housed in a shelter and will not be allowed to leave this territory.
The press secretary of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Akhror Burkhanov, emphasized that the Uzbekistan Embassy in Washington and the Consulate General in New York have been closely cooperating with the relevant law enforcement agencies in the USA for many years to ensure the safe deportation of Uzbeks to their homeland.
"We are also monitoring media reports regarding the potential deportation of Uzbek citizens to other countries. On this matter, our diplomatic missions have reached out to the American side requesting information about possible deportations to other countries," he stated.
