Ministry of Energy: Only 103 charging stations meet the required technical specifications.

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan has announced that, as of today, there are no charging stations in Tashkent that are disconnected from the power grid.
Минэнерго сообщает, что только 103 зарядные станции соответствуют необходимым техническим условиям.

According to the ministry's information, raids were conducted in December 2024, during which charging stations that did not meet established standards were identified.

Thanks to the prompt intervention of ministry specialists, issues at 11 stations were resolved, the ministry noted.

“As of today, there are no charging stations in Tashkent that are disconnected from the power grid,” the agency emphasized.

The Ministry of Energy points out that out of approximately 1,000 existing charging stations across the country, only 103 fully comply with the necessary technical requirements. The lack of proper documentation can lead to disruptions in power supply and a decline in the quality of electric vehicle charging, the agency added.

In this regard, the ministry highlights the importance of bringing all stations into compliance with established norms.

To support entrepreneurs engaged in the installation and operation of charging stations, the Ministry of Energy is developing a draft resolution that provides for the introduction of tariff preferences.

According to the draft, charging rates for electric vehicles will be differentiated based on the time of day:

During peak energy consumption hours (from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and from 5:15 PM to 10:15 PM), slightly increased rates are expected to be implemented.

During nighttime hours (from 10:15 PM to 6:00 AM), when the load on the network is minimal, rates will be reduced by up to 52%.
