Defense Minister Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov has taken the helm of the Shooting Sports Federation.

The new chairman discussed plans for promoting sports, modernizing infrastructure, and obtaining a license for the Olympics in Los Angeles.

An extraordinary conference of the Uzbekistan Shooting Sports Federation took place at the National Olympic Committee, during which the position of the federation's chairman was approved.
The nomination for this post was put forward for the Minister of Defense, Major General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, who was unanimously approved by the delegates of the meeting.
Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov expressed his gratitude to the participants for their trust and noted that all efforts and resources would be directed towards promoting and developing shooting sports in accordance with the requirements of the state leader's decree.
Additionally, the federation's chairman spoke about the construction of facilities for shooting sports, the provision of athletes with modern equipment, and plans to hold a Sniper Cup among military personnel and a national championship for youth.
The federation will primarily focus on obtaining licenses to participate in the Olympic Games in Los Angeles and securing podium finishes for athletes.
