The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, participated in an informal meeting of the heads of state of the CIS in St. Petersburg, as reported by the president's press service.

The event also featured the participation of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, and the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdymukhamedov.

The meeting reviewed the outcomes of collaborative efforts in 2024 and discussed priority tasks for multilateral cooperation in the upcoming year. Special attention was given to developing joint measures to enhance intra-regional trade and cooperation, particularly by eliminating barriers to mutual trade.

The heads of state exchanged views on the prospects for developing multifaceted partnerships in new areas, such as the establishment of engineering schools, the advancement of internet technologies, the big data industry, the creative economy, "green" energy, and peaceful nuclear energy, as well as the implementation of digital solutions.

Additionally, current issues on the regional and international agenda were discussed, along with the expansion of practical cooperation within the CIS to combat shared challenges and threats.
