Mirziyoyev presented the "Dustlik" order to the president of the International Judo Federation.

On February 27, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Marius Vizer, the head of the International Judo Federation, who was in Tashkent for the prestigious Grand Slam international tournament.

As reported by the president's press service, the meeting addressed issues related to the further expansion of fruitful cooperation with the sports organization in developing the national judo school and promoting this martial art in the country.

Marius Vizer highly praised the reforms aimed at popularizing a healthy lifestyle and providing comprehensive support for various sports in the country, as well as encouraging youth participation, particularly among girls, and creating modern and accessible sports infrastructure.

Special attention during the meeting was given to expanding technical assistance and expert support for the federation in training athletes, coaches, and referees, as well as implementing an effective talent selection mechanism.

Additionally, it was proposed to regularly hold international judo competitions in Uzbekistan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the president awarded Marius Vizer a high state honor – the "Dustlik" order – for his significant personal contribution to the development of the national school of this martial art.
