"Videos are edited and shared," said a representative of the State Road Safety Department regarding the "no photo" law.

According to representatives of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, videos featuring employees are being circulated on social media, containing edited segments along with clips from movies or other discrediting materials. As a result, those who distort and disseminate photo and video recordings of law enforcement personnel may face fines or administrative detention.

According to the amendments that came into effect on February 21, changes to the Code of Administrative Offenses, the dissemination of videos featuring law enforcement officers that are distorted in a way that discredits them is punishable by a fine of 50 basic calculation amounts (BCA) or 10 days of administrative arrest.

On February 25, during a press conference at the AIMK with the participation of the leadership of the Traffic Safety Department, journalist Kun.uz inquired about what is meant by "discrediting" employees.

Erali Bozorov, Deputy Head of the Traffic Safety Department:

– This refers to the distorted dissemination of photo and video recordings. For instance, a video is taken, scenes from movies are added, and the situation itself is altered. It is important to understand that this applies not only to the employees of the Traffic Safety Department but to all law enforcement officers. If a distortion is identified…

Additionally, if a Traffic Safety Department employee has indeed committed unlawful actions, citizens can send the corresponding videos and evidence to our Internal Security Service or contact the leadership. In the event of an unlawful protocol being issued, an online complaint can be filed. If the employee is found to be at fault, disciplinary measures will be taken against them.

Azizkhon Murodov, employee of the Traffic Safety Department:

– This is specifically about editors. We see that snippets are often published on social media without context – only the moment of the dispute is taken, scenes from movies are added, along with stickers or offensive footage. Such cases are addressed in the law, and penalties are provided for them.
