Mubashshir Ahmad has been declared wanted in Uzbekistan.

The founder of Azon TV and the information and analytical portal Azon Global, a well-known religious figure known by the pseudonym Mubashshir Ahmad, Alisher Tursunov, has been declared wanted by law enforcement agencies in Uzbekistan. He is accused of establishing prohibited organizations.

As confirmed by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Shohrukh Giyosov, in an interview with Kun.uz, Mubashshir Ahmad is wanted under Article 244-2, Part 1 of the Criminal Code – "Creation, leadership, or participation in religious extremist, separatist, fundamentalist, or other banned organizations."

The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the date of the wanted announcement is not disclosed due to the confidentiality of the investigation. There is no information on the existence of other charges.

Mubashshir Ahmad is known as a student of the late Sheikh Muhammad Sodik Muhammad Yusuf, an active participant in the Uzbek-speaking segment of social media, and the author of several religious books and educational projects, such as Azon.uz and Azon TV.

For the past few years, he has been living in Turkey. At the end of 2023, Turkish police arrested him in his own home; however, he was soon released due to a lack of evidence.
