According to the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution No. 801 dated November 30, 2024, representatives of the "seven mahallas" were assigned tasks for implementing social preventive measures. On January 29, during a briefing at AIMK, the press secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Public Security Department, Muzifa Sultonova, reported on the progress of these tasks.
"As a result, over the past year, prevention inspectors and mahalla representatives, while visiting homes, compiled a list of more than 800,000 individuals who may commit offenses or be victims of them. More than 588,000 of them received conclusions, and the issues of over 400,000 citizens were positively resolved by mahalla representatives," – states the message from the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Muzifa Sultonova's statement does not clarify the basis on which tens of thousands of citizens were categorized as "having a high risk of committing an offense or becoming a victim of one."
It is also reported that in 2025, 84 Law and Order Centers will begin operations, covering 419 mahallas with high crime rates in the Fergana, Andijan, Namangan, Samarkand, and Tashkent regions. This system will later be extended to other regions.
