A baby was born on board an Uzbekistan Airways flight.

“On the day of the airline's 33rd anniversary, an incredible event occurred on flight HY101, which was traveling from Tashkent to New York! During the flight, one of the passengers went into labor. The crew leader assessed the situation and made an announcement over the intercom asking for any doctors on board to respond. Two passengers, an obstetrician and a surgeon, answered the call for help. Shortly thereafter, a baby boy was born to the passenger,” – is stated in the message.

The crew decided to make an emergency landing at a backup airport in Keflavik, Iceland. After a successful landing, medical personnel boarded the aircraft to provide necessary assistance. Both the mother and the newborn were taken to a local clinic.
