In Uzbekistan, customs duties are being introduced on the import of certain types of medicines. This is outlined in the presidential decree dated January 28 regarding measures for the accelerated development of the pharmaceutical sector.
The document amends the resolution from June 29, 2018, which established customs duties on imported goods.
Previously, the duty rate on goods listed under item 3004 (code according to the foreign economic activity nomenclature) was 0%, but now a 2% customs duty is being introduced.
This category includes medicines made from mixed or unmixed products intended for therapeutic or preventive use, packaged in a dosage form (including medicines in the form of transdermal systems) or in retail packaging (excluding goods listed under items 3002, 3005, or 3006).
