Failure to comply with the stop requirement now carries a penalty of a one-year driving license suspension.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved a law introducing changes to the road safety system.

The Code of Administrative Offenses has been amended with a third part of Article 194 (Failure to comply with the lawful demands of law enforcement officers).

If a driver repeatedly fails to comply with a law enforcement officer's request to stop without a valid reason, they face a one-year suspension of their driving license and a fine amounting to 30 times the base calculation amount (11.25 million sums).

Additionally, the Criminal Code has been supplemented with Article 261-1 (Driving under the influence or refusing to undergo testing).
