During the meeting, the topics of local electrical engineering product supplies for the implementation of projects by Chinese companies in Uzbekistan were discussed.
China Datang, in collaboration with Dongfang Electric Corporation, is undertaking the construction of a 264 MW solar photovoltaic power station in the Bukhara region of Tashkent. The total cost of the project is $170 million.
The guests were provided with detailed information about the current state of Uzbekistan's electrical engineering industry, the activities of the association "Uzelttehsanoat," and the capabilities of local manufacturers.
It was specifically noted that in 2024, China Datang will open a joint innovation center in Uzbekistan called Silk Road Energy, which will focus on scientific research and development in the energy sector. The company also plans to establish a cooperative institute for training engineering and technical specialists in the energy field.
As part of the visit, representatives from Chinese companies toured the EltexLab laboratory and the Eltex-Malaka training center, which operate under the association. Special attention was given to issues of joint scientific research and the development of professional training programs.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation, which will encompass not only trade and economic aspects but also joint scientific developments and the training of highly qualified specialists for the energy sector.
