Business owners now face increased electricity and gas rates when exceeding their usage limits.

In Uzbekistan, the increased rates for electricity and gas have been reduced for entrepreneurs when they exceed the established limits.
Предпринимателям изменили тарифы на электроэнергию и газ, которые увеличиваются при превышении установленного лимита.

According to the new regulations, businesses will be able to continue paying for electricity and gas at the basic tariff if their consumption exceeds the limit by up to 20%.

If the excess is more than 20%, the charge will only increase by 20% of the basic tariff.

Previously, rules established by the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution from May 31 mandated that legal entities pay for electricity at a double tariff if they exceeded the limit by 10% of the volume specified in the contract.

In August 2024, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, during a meeting with entrepreneurs, expressed the business community's dissatisfaction with the existing double tariffs, emphasizing their negative impact on the industry’s development.

In this regard, the head of state instructed the government to take measures by November 1 to ease conditions for entrepreneurs, including increasing contractual limits on energy resources and simplifying prepayment for electricity and gas.

Additionally, it was proposed to allow businesses ranked as "high" and "medium" to pay for electricity in two installments over the month and to permit the settlement of utility payments even with existing collection orders. However, these initiatives were not included in the regulatory acts.
