The President of Uzbekistan reviewed the latest advancements in the defense industry.

Uzbekistan, Tashkent – According to AN Podrobno.uz, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Innovative Technologies Center of the Defense Industry Agency on February 21. During his visit, he explored the production capabilities, cutting-edge developments, and products intended for military and dual-use purposes. He also outlined future directions for development in this sector, as reported by a Podrobno.uz correspondent.

The Center for Innovative Technologies has already established the production of around 80 types of military equipment and dual-use products. Here, startup projects in robotics and unmanned aerial vehicles are supported.

During the visit, new samples of military equipment and plans for further development of the defense sector were presented to the head of state.

The President emphasized the need to continue efforts to enhance the competitiveness of the domestic defense complex, to develop new types of products, and to implement innovative technologies, including artificial intelligence.

Additionally, directives were issued to attract the private sector, expand the range of products, and create new jobs. Special attention was given to the training of specialists and the establishment of modern laboratories.

Uzbek defense-industrial enterprises actively participate in international exhibitions. In particular, over 100 units of domestically produced military equipment are showcased at the IDEX-2025 exhibition taking place from February 17 to 21 in Abu Dhabi (UAE). Among the exhibits are the "Arslon" armored personnel carriers with wheeled formulas 8×8 and 6×6, as well as the "Tufon" self-propelled howitzer, which have attracted interest from foreign partners.

Following the visit, the president outlined strategic directions for the development of the defense industry, set tasks for ensuring high product quality, expanding production, and strengthening the positions of domestic manufacturers in the global market.

It is worth noting that Uzbekistan ranked 58th in the Global Firepower index of the strongest armies in the world.
