"People used to stay home without socks; now they don't. Why is today's warmth different from the past?"

According to Bekzod Buronboev, the director of the Tashkent Thermal Center, the demand for "energy efficiency" has led to a reduction in gas consumption by thermal centers, resulting in lower temperatures of the distributed thermal energy. Experts interviewed by Kun.uz believe that it is essential to reassess the heating temperature supplied to residential buildings.
«Раньше люди сидели дома без носков, теперь – нет». Почему современное тепло отличается от того, что было раньше?

On February 10, Kun.uz published an analytical interview with experts discussing air pollution. During the conversation, in addition to the main topic, they also addressed the issue of centralized heating temperatures in multi-story buildings in the capital. The editorial team decided to release this segment separately.

Bekzod Buronboev, Director of the LLC "Tashkent Heating Center," noted that the thermal power plants and heating centers are operating in "energy efficiency" mode, which leads to reduced gas consumption. According to him, while the first energy block of the Tashkent TPP, launched in 1963, consumed 1 billion 100 million cubic meters of gas, this figure decreased to 850 million cubic meters in 2024. A similar trend is observed in heating centers, which annually consume 200–250 million cubic meters less gas.

Climatologist Erkin Abdulakhatov pointed out that in such a situation, the temperature of the supplied thermal energy has decreased. Buronboev confirmed that compared to 20–30 years ago, the temperature has indeed become lower.
