On December 28, the President of Uzbekistan signed an order titled “On Additional Measures to Ensure Equal Conditions for Entrepreneurs and a Fair Competitive Environment.”
According to the order, the exemption introduced by the presidential decrees No. UP-145 dated May 31, 2022, and No. UP-41 dated March 23, 2023, has been extended until January 1, 2026, for goods that are subject to a zero customs duty rate.
This measure aims to ensure price stability in consumer markets.
The list of goods that can be imported duty-free for at least another year includes fish, butter, margarine, cream, condensed milk, eggs, bananas, coffee, tea, flour, yogurt, cheese, cottage cheese, confectionery, jam, non-alcoholic beverages, hair care products, certain hygiene items, and more.
Additionally, the duty-free import of fresh or dried dates, figs, pineapples, avocados, guavas, mangoes, coconuts, apples, pears, quinces, and other fruits will also continue.
Under another resolution, the zero customs duty rate on the import of vegetable oils has also been extended until January 1, 2026. However, the exemption period for the import of poultry meat has not been extended.
