The First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Nurmat Atabekov, explained that the spread of seasonal respiratory illnesses, including flu, parainfluenza, adenoviruses, and other infections, is a natural occurrence during the autumn-winter and winter-spring periods. He emphasized that the current situation does not raise concerns.
“Recently, we have observed sharp temperature fluctuations, which contribute to reduced ventilation in indoor spaces and an increase in the concentration of viruses in the air. However, this is not a reason for panic,” noted Atabekov.
The specialist also reminded the importance of following preventive measures: avoiding public places when symptoms appear, wearing medical masks, strengthening immunity through proper nutrition, and dressing appropriately for the season.
Symptoms of ARVI include itching in the nose, sneezing, runny nose, sore throat, dry cough, and hoarseness. During the recovery stage, one may experience phlegm discharge and reduced pain when coughing.
The SES urged citizens not to succumb to panic, to follow doctors' recommendations, and to pay attention to prevention in order to avert further spread of illnesses.
