Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that the high voter turnout and the results of the voting demonstrate the trust of the Belarusian people in the current leader, as well as support for the political and socio-economic reforms he is implementing.
During the conversation, the heads of state discussed prospects for strengthening Uzbek-Belarusian relations. The leaders paid special attention to the implementation of agreements reached during Alexander Lukashenko's visit to Uzbekistan in February of last year. They emphasized the importance of accelerating joint projects in industry, enhancing business and interregional ties, and continuing cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Additionally, during the conversation, plans were agreed upon for the implementation of upcoming events aimed at further developing cooperation.
It is worth noting that the presidential elections in Belarus took place the day before. According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, 86.82% of voters cast their ballots for the current president, Alexander Lukashenko, who is running for a seventh presidential term. He has been leading the country since 1994.
