Out of 46 units of aviation equipment (22 airplanes and 24 helicopters) that ended up in Uzbekistan, most of them were transferred to the republic. However, seven Black Hawk helicopters, which the Pentagon deemed fit for operation, were returned to the United States.
Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for the United States, Davis Florick, expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan for its long-standing military-technical cooperation. He noted that Tashkent's support played a crucial role in the success of international missions in Afghanistan, as well as in the evacuation of Afghan refugees and the organization of humanitarian convoys for the Afghan population.
The Uzbek Ambassador to the United States and Canada, Furkat Sidikov, stated that Tashkent is ready to expand cooperation with Washington in all areas. He also emphasized that the government of Uzbekistan highly values the interaction between the security systems and armed forces of the two countries.
It is worth recalling that in August 2021, during the Taliban's takeover, over 500 Afghan servicemen were evacuated to Uzbekistan on planes and helicopters provided by the Afghan army of the United States. The return of part of the equipment marked another step in strengthening the partnership between the United States and Uzbekistan.
