The Tashkent Metro will expand its fleet of trains.

In January 2025, the Tashkent Metro will receive nine new trains, each comprising four carriages. This was announced by Rustam Shafikov, the head of the metro's traffic service, during an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 television channel.
Метрополитен Ташкента увеличит количество поездов в своем парке.

Last year, the metro already updated with 17 new trains, three of which arrived at the end of December and are currently undergoing technical testing. This year, the metro plans to acquire an additional 14 four-car trains, which will help reduce train intervals on key lines.

This innovation is aimed at enhancing the comfort and convenience of passengers, as well as improving the city's transport infrastructure, said Shafikov.

Earlier, Kun.uz reported that "Uzbekiston Temir Yullari" denied information about a tender for 40 trains.
