The Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Better Cotton discussed support for cotton clusters.

Better Cotton is an international non-profit organization that promotes sustainable cotton farming practices. It develops environmentally friendly standards, educates farmers on effective methods, and supports the improvement of labor conditions in the cotton industry.

Eva Clayton noted that Better Cotton has been operating in Uzbekistan since 2022, and to date, practical assistance has been provided for the Better Cotton certification of nine cotton clusters in the country.

In turn, Dilshod Rasulov spoke about the benefits and preferences offered by the government of Uzbekistan to cotton growers and cotton clusters.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to further cooperation in assisting Uzbek cotton producers and clusters in accessing external markets through obtaining the international Better Cotton certification.
