"They drive a Cherry car..." — Over 20,000 families receiving aid as needy have been removed from the registry.

In 2024, the General Prosecutor's Office uncovered thousands of families receiving social assistance despite owning retail businesses, numerous livestock, or personal vehicles during their oversight activities. These families have been removed from the benefits registry. Simultaneously, over 5,000 families facing severe social difficulties, who were not previously included in the registry, have been placed under state protection.
«У них машина Cherry…» — более 20 тысяч семей, ранее получавших пособия как малоимущие, исключены из списка.

At a briefing held on January 31 at the AIMK, the head of the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, Khayot Shamsuddinov, reported on the measures taken by the prosecutor's office to uphold the rule of law, protect citizens' rights, and prevent crime in 2024.

According to him, the prosecutor's office has carried out targeted efforts to reduce poverty, assisting nearly 2 million families. By employing members of these families, their living conditions have improved.

As a result of monitoring activities in 2024, 20,129 families receiving social benefits were removed from the registry, which helped prevent the illegal expenditure of 32 billion sums from the budget.

According to data presented by Khayot Shamsuddinov for Kun.uz, it was discovered in the Buvaydin district that a citizen who owned 38 heads of cattle continued to receive benefits. In the Yaziyavan district, another citizen owned a retail outlet, and in the Jalakuduk district, a family was using a Cherry car while also being listed among those in need. All of them were removed from the registry.

Furthermore, during inspections, 5,274 families in difficult social conditions, not previously included in the registry, were added and received state social protection.

In addition, in 2024, the following results were achieved as part of monitoring activities to ensure employment:

  • 489 citizens were compensated for delayed wages amounting to 3.8 billion sums;
  • 78 cases of wage theft and equivalent payments totaling 11.2 billion sums were identified, and the responsible parties were held accountable;
  • It was established that the reports had inflated the number of new jobs by 862,350, and appropriate measures were taken;
  • Voluntary compensation of damages amounting to 4.7 billion sums was achieved, and 2,185 lawsuits totaling 31.2 billion sums were filed in the interests of citizens.
