Uzbek citizens will retain the right to record law enforcement officers.

The Senate of the Oliy Majlis has approved a law that allows citizens to continue photographing and filming law enforcement officers, as well as sharing these materials.
У граждан Узбекистана останется право записывать действия правоохранительных органов.

However, the law prohibits the intentional distortion of video recordings through editing and their distribution for personal gain.

A fine ranging from 20 to 50 BRV (approximately 7.5 million to 18.7 million sums) is imposed for this violation, or an administrative arrest of up to 10 days.

In the event of a repeated offense, criminal liability is anticipated.

Recall that in November 2023, the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis approved the introduction of penalties for posting photos and videos on the Internet regarding the activities of law enforcement officers "with the intent to discredit them."

Subsequently, the Senate rejected the law and returned it for revision.
