The armed forces are equipped with modern weapons at a level of 45 percent.

In recent years, the armed forces of Uzbekistan have achieved notable progress. An article published in the popular South Korean magazine Diplomacy Journal states that Uzbekistan's national army serves as a dependable guarantor of the stability of New Uzbekistan.
Современное вооружение составляет 45% от общего оснащения вооруженных сил.

The article highlights that Uzbekistan is undergoing a large-scale reform of its armed forces in several areas:

1. First, at the initiative of the president, based on the principle of "The People and the Army - a Single Body and a Single Soul," military-administrative sectors have been established to implement a unified state policy in the field of defense across regions. Today, these sectors serve as bodies that strengthen the connection between the military and local authorities, addressing issues of territorial defense.

2. Second, the system for training military personnel has been reorganized and optimized with consideration of the experience of developed countries. A new Institute of Information and Communication Technologies in Military Affairs and a Higher Military Aviation School have been established. The Academy of Armed Forces of Uzbekistan and the Central Asian Academy of Medical Sciences have been equipped with innovative devices and a world-class educational and material base.

3. Third, the defense industry is actively developing. With the establishment of the Defense Industry Agency of Uzbekistan, the production of certain types of weapons and equipment has been modernized and localized. Currently, Uzbekistan has set up the production of the "Arslon" armored personnel carriers, "Tarlon-M" light armored personnel carriers, "Қалқон," as well as "Lochin" unmanned aerial vehicles.

The "Arslon" armored personnel carrier was specifically designed for the armed forces of Uzbekistan according to NATO standards. This armored personnel carrier is equipped with a modern combat module and is capable of performing combat tasks both day and night, in any climate conditions.

Overall, in recent years, the level of equipment of the armed forces with modern weaponry has reached 45%. The successive reforms in the army have doubled the combat power of the armed forces of Uzbekistan.

Fourth , social protection for military personnel and their families has been strengthened. Within the framework of reforms based on the principle of "For Human Dignity," over the past five years, around 10,000 military personnel have been provided with housing through preferential loans. Efforts to employ military personnel and provide medical assistance are also ongoing.

Furthermore, from 2018 to 2024, more than 6,000 children of military personnel received recommendations from the ministry for admission to the bachelor's programs of state universities in the country based on state scholarships, without entrance examinations.

From 2021 to 2024, over 4,000 family members of military personnel have been sent for vocational training in vocational training centers and educational institutions.

Fifth , an important direction is fostering patriotism among the population, especially among the youth, through the Armed Forces, which have become a crucial institution and an effective force. Based on the principle "Our National Army - Our Pride and Glory," proposed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, military units have opened their doors wide to the public, especially to the youth.

Regular events such as "Open Door Days" are held under the projects "Youth of New Uzbekistan, Unite," "Commander and Youth," "A Day in a Military Unit," as well as military-patriotic and cultural-educational events like "Three Generations," which involve youth, veterans of the Armed Forces, and military personnel.

Sixth , an important element is military cooperation with foreign countries, which enhances the country's defense capabilities.

Connections with foreign partners are implemented based on annually signed military cooperation programs. In particular, partnerships in the field of defense have been established with the USA, Germany, France, Italy, the UK, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Korea, China, India, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, as well as within the framework of the CIS, SCO, and CSTO.

Important international military events are actively held on the territory of Uzbekistan, contributing to enhancing the country's authority and the National Armed Forces on the global stage.
