Uzbekistan and John Deere have discussed potential collaboration in the agricultural sector.

On February 19, representatives from John Deere met with officials from the Ministry of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The discussion focused on the future of the agricultural sector, the implementation of advanced technologies, and the enhancement of financial support mechanisms for farms and cluster enterprises.

The Uzbek side was represented by Bakhtiyor Saburov, the General Director of UHM Landtech LLC; Ibrat Abdumalikov, the Investment Manager of the Department of Cooperation with European and American Countries; and Alisher Zakhidov, the Director of the Department of Financial Support for Reforms in Agriculture at the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The key topics of the negotiations included expanding financial opportunities for the agricultural sector, particularly the provision of preferential credit lines. Additionally, the discussions covered improving the mechanisms for customs benefits and subsidies, including the application of customs preferences and the subsidization of John Deere machinery.

The parties expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation in the implementation of innovative technologies in agriculture, enhance financial support for farmers, and attract foreign investments into the sector.
