On February 5, negotiations between the two leaders took place at the Perdana Putra government complex in Malaysia. They discussed the prospects for further expansion of Uzbek-Malaysian cooperation across various sectors.
"Priority areas for the new model of economic cooperation have been identified: petrochemicals and chemistry, electronics and the semiconductor industry, innovative industries, smart agriculture, green energy, pilgrimage tourism, and others," - is stated on the website of the President of Uzbekistan.
The parties also agreed to develop a Preferential Trade Agreement, organize industrial exhibitions, and adopt an Industrial Cooperation Program. Malaysia expressed support for Uzbekistan's accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO).
In the cultural and humanitarian sphere, mutual Culture Weeks are planned for 2025. The leaders also discussed issues related to the fight against terrorism and radicalism, as well as Islamophobia.
Following the negotiations, a decision was made to prepare a "roadmap" for implementing the agreements reached. The President of Uzbekistan invited the Prime Minister of Malaysia to visit Tashkent.
