Uzbekistan and SUEZ Group have discussed the modernization of water infrastructure.

On February 19, 2025, Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, held discussions with Pierre Poliak, the CEO of SUEZ Group.

From the Uzbek side, the discussion was attended by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance Ilkhomjon Umrzakov, the Acting Chairman of the Board of JSC "Uzsuvta'minot" Akhmad Suvonkulov, and representatives of relevant agencies.

The meeting focused on the prospects for cooperation in the modernization of water supply and the training of specialists. The parties discussed projects aimed at improving water supply and purification systems in Uzbekistan, including public-private partnerships in the Surkhandarya region and the renewal of Tashkent's water infrastructure. The importance of implementing advanced technologies and sustainable solutions to enhance the quality of water resources was emphasized.

Additionally, issues of educational collaboration were considered, particularly the development of training programs for highly qualified specialists in the field of water supply based at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties expressed their readiness to further develop partnerships in water supply, wastewater treatment, and water resource management, as well as to implement projects that contribute to sustainable development and environmental safety in the region.
