Uzbekistan has revised the fees for the entry of foreign cargo vehicles.

In Uzbekistan, the fees for the entry of foreign freight vehicles have been revised, as outlined in the state budget law for 2025. The changes primarily affect trucks registered in Turkmenistan, which will see a substantial increase in their charges.

The fee for transporting goods from third countries and exporting goods from Uzbekistan has also increased. For trucks from Turkmenistan, it has risen from $175 to $375.

For vehicles from the European Union and Azerbaijan, differentiated tariffs have been introduced based on the duration of stay. If the stay is up to 14 days, the fee is $80, while for stays exceeding 14 days, it is $280.

The fee paid upon entry can be recalculated upon the vehicle's exit from the country, based on the actual duration of its stay in Uzbekistan.

Additionally, a fee of $400 has been established for each permit for international cargo transport issued to foreign carriers beyond the needs of national companies. A reduced coefficient of 0.5 applies to transit transport, while an increased coefficient of 2 is applicable for transport to/from third countries.

A zero fee rate has been set for vehicles from Iran, which is based on the principle of reciprocity.

Rates for other countries remain unchanged. For trucks from Tajikistan, they are $100, $150, and $200 depending on the weight. Transport from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan is subject to a fee of $300, while from Afghanistan, it is $50. A rate of $400 is established for all other countries.

In October 2024, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan agreed on equitable and transparent conditions for collecting transport payments. From 2025, fees for national carriers of both countries will be equalized. Furthermore, the implementation of an electronic permit exchange system (E-Permit) is planned between the countries, which is already functioning successfully in cooperation with Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Kazakhstan.
