As a result of these transformations, the country's economy has nearly doubled in recent years, and in 2024, growth rates exceeded 6%. Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover with Central Asian countries reached $7 billion, while with the Gulf Cooperation Council states it amounted to $1 billion. Currently, Uzbekistan's investment portfolio with partners from the Gulf and Central Asian countries totals $70 billion.
Shokhrukh Ghulamov reaffirmed Uzbekistan's commitment to further expanding cooperation in the region, highlighting the significant potential for collaboration in agriculture, the textile industry, mineral extraction, energy, healthcare, and tourism. In conclusion, he invited participants to attend the second meeting of Central Asian countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council, which will take place in May in Samarkand.
As part of the visit, the Uzbek delegation also held a series of negotiations with the leadership of major UAE companies. As a result, joint measures were agreed upon to accelerate the implementation of current projects and new areas for expanding bilateral cooperation were identified.
