The President signed the Decree dated December 24, 2024, No. UP-224 "On Additional Measures for Improving State Control in the Field of Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety."
Within the structure of the Committee for Industrial, Radiation, and Nuclear Safety under the Cabinet, the Navoi, Almalyk, Bekabad, and Railway Industrial Safety Inspectorates have been established.
Starting from July 1, 2025, fines will be implemented for legal entities for violations of:
- industrial safety requirements at hazardous production facilities;
- rules and other requirements related to ensuring radiation and nuclear safety;
- legislation and regulatory documents in the field of technical regulation during the operation of amusement park attractions.
Uzbekistan plans to join the following international agreements:
- Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage (Vienna, May 21, 1963);
- Convention on Assistance in the Case of a Nuclear or Radiological Emergency (Vienna, September 26, 1986);
- Convention on Early Notification of a Nuclear Accident (Vienna, September 26, 1986);
- Convention on Nuclear Safety (Vienna, June 17, 1994).
Additionally, in 2025, the development of laws is expected on:
- "Chemical Safety";
- "Industrial Safety of Hazardous Production Facilities";
- "Management of Radioactive Waste."
