Uzbekistan aims to establish a free economic zone along its border with Afghanistan, which will host facilities for processing pine nuts and cotton, as well as food production, packaging, and logistics centers.

Uzbek investors have expressed their readiness to invest in the construction of a cement plant in Afghanistan's Samangan province, as well as in the exploration and extraction of mineral resources.

Additionally, gas production is set to commence soon at the Tuti-Maidan field in Afghanistan's Faryab province, noted the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan.

A Taliban delegation arrived in Uzbekistan on February 22 for negotiations. The group included representatives from the Afghan administration and relevant departments.

Together with Jamshid Khojaev, the Afghan delegation was welcomed by the special representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan, Ismatulla Irgashev, and the ambassador of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Uzbekistan, Abdul Gafar Bakhri.
