Uzbekistan will become the first country in the region to convert waste into energy.

Uzbekistan is set to become a pioneer in waste-to-energy conversion among Central Asian countries.
Узбекистан станет лидером в регионе по преобразованию отходов в энергию.

Under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Uzbekistan is actively promoting initiatives in waste management and renewable energy, attracting foreign investors and facilitating the implementation of modern technologies.

In 2024, Shanghai SUS Environment Co. Ltd began its operations in the Uzbek market, offering innovative solutions for the country's sustainable development. With the launch of waste-to-energy plants, Uzbekistan is expected to become the first country in Central Asia to adopt such eco-friendly technologies.

Company representatives noted that the success of these projects has been made possible by the creation of a favorable investment climate and support from the government of Uzbekistan.

Among the company's long-term goals are the production of equipment that meets international standards, attracting leading Chinese companies for joint projects, training local specialists, conducting scientific research, and developing regulatory frameworks.

Approximately $1 billion in investments is planned to be directed towards the realization of these plans.

It is anticipated that by 2025, cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in this sector will continue to deepen, providing a new impetus for bilateral relations.
