Uzbekistan has approved new customs duty rates as part of its accession to the WTO.

On January 31, the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan approved new customs duty rates, according to the Customs Committee.

In particular, the amount of fees for customs clearance of goods is now determined based on the estimated cost of expenses related to the actions of customs authorities.

Additionally, the rates for fees associated with the customs regimes of "export" and "import" have been harmonized.

The customs fee for processing outside of working hours has been significantly reduced—by 8 times, from 2 basic calculated amounts (750,000 sums) to 25% of the basic calculated amount (93,750 sums).

The fee rate for processing goods under the customs regime of processing on the customs territory and beyond has been halved.

Furthermore, a 20% discount on the fee amount is provided for preliminary declarations.

For the transit customs regime, a fee of 25% of the basic calculated amount has been established.

A new fee is introduced for international courier shipments—2% of the basic calculated amount (7,500 sums) for each kilogram of cargo. The tax-free import norm for courier parcels for individuals remains in effect for amounts up to $1,000 within a calendar quarter.
