He emphasized the country's commitment to multilateral cooperation, strengthening global governance, and regional partnerships. Special attention was given to supporting Afghanistan's economic recovery and combating transnational threats such as drug trafficking, terrorism, and organized crime.
Participants at the meeting were presented with the "Uzbekistan Development Strategy until 2030," which focuses on economic resilience, poverty reduction, and expanding opportunities for youth. An initiative was also announced to declare 2025 as the Year of Environmental Protection and "green" economy in Uzbekistan.
Ambassador Lapasov spoke about large-scale efforts to preserve water resources and utilize renewable energy sources aimed at mitigating the consequences of the Aral Sea disaster. He called on the international community to enhance support for sustainable development in the Aral Sea region.
Furthermore, UN member states were invited to the UN Public Service Forum, which will take place in June 2025 in Samarkand.
