Turkey continues to strengthen its position in the global defense market, including the military drone sector. In particular, the ANKA drones, which are the subject of an upcoming supply contract, are utilized not only by the Turkish armed forces but also by the armies of Algeria, Kazakhstan, Tunisia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Chad.
The twin-engine AKSUNGUR drone can remain airborne for over 50 hours and carry a payload of up to 750 kilograms.
The single-engine ANKA SIHA drone is capable of staying in the air for up to 30 hours and has a payload capacity of 350 kilograms. Both aircraft are powered by turbo-diesel aviation engines.
According to open data, the export price of the ANKA drone exceeds $25 million. Specifically, in 2020, the Ministry of Defense of Tunisia purchased three such units from Turkey for $80 million. In 2023, the Ministry of Defense of Indonesia signed an agreement to acquire 12 ANKA drones for $300 million. These contracts and prices include training for military operators, several sets of munitions for the drones, as well as control stations.
It is worth noting that in November 2023, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, got acquainted with the Bayraktar UAV in Surkhandarya.
Earlier, Kun.uz reported that Kazakhstan plans to manufacture Turkish Bayraktar drones.
