In 2024, the positive contribution to GDP growth came from the agriculture, forestry, and fishing sectors – 0.6 percentage points, industry – 1.7 percentage points, construction – 0.6 percentage points, and the services sector – 3.3 percentage points. Due to an increase in net taxes on products, GDP rose by 0.3 percentage points.
The gross added value created by all sectors of the economy amounted to 95.3% of the total GDP and increased by 6.6% (contributing 6.2 percentage points to GDP growth).
Net taxes on products accounted for 4.7% of GDP, and compared to 2023, they grew by 6.0% (contributing 0.3 percentage points to GDP growth).
At the end of 2024, there were minor changes in the sectoral structure of GDP. Compared to 2023, the share of the services sector in the sectoral structure of GDP (GVA) increased from 46.2% to 47.4%, industry from 25.3% to 26.4%, while the share of agriculture, forestry, and fishing decreased from 21.2% to 19.2%, and construction from 7.3% to 7.0%.
In 2024, GDP per capita at current prices reached 39.13 million sums (equivalent to $3,092.7).

This positive trend in the sector was mainly due to the growth in added value of the mining industry and quarrying by 1.9%, manufacturing by 7.7%, electricity supply, gas, steam, and air conditioning by 5.4%, and water supply, sewage, waste collection, and disposal by 5.6%.
Compared to 2023, construction work in 2024 increased by 8.8%.
Additionally, the growth rates for the construction of buildings and structures were 105.5%, civil engineering objects – 124.7%, and specialized construction work – 106.4%.
In 2024, the volume of construction work amounted to 233,832.9 billion sums. Of this total, large organizations accounted for 23.6%, small enterprises and micro-firms – 46.2%, and individuals – 30.2%.
At the end of 2024, the gross added value of the services sector reached 657,348.5 billion sums and increased by 7.7% compared to 2023. This included trade services growing by 11.5%, accommodation and food services by 10.7%, transport and storage by 8.5%, information and communication by 24.7%, and other services by 4.5%.
In 2024, the largest share in the structure of gross added value of trade was attributed to retail trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles) at 56.1%. The share of wholesale trade (excluding trade in motor vehicles) was 30.9%, and wholesale and retail trade of motor vehicles and their repairs accounted for 13.0%.
At the end of 2024, the share of transport and storage in Uzbekistan's GDP was 5.4%. In the structure of gross added value of the transport and storage sector, the largest share was attributed to road transport – 55.7%. Pipeline transport accounted for 13.4%, rail transport – 8.4%, auxiliary transport activities – 14.9%, and air transport – 7.6% of the total added value in this sector.
In 2024, the share of information and communication in the country's economy was 2.7%. In the structure of added value in this sector, the main share was attributed to communication services (wired and mobile communication, Internet, etc.) at 35.0%. The remaining 65.0% of added value created in this sector came from other areas (publishing, computer programming, software development, and broadcasting, etc.).
In 2024, the share of information and communication technology (ICT) services in the country's economy was 2.4%. The added value of ICT services consisted of communication services – 38.2%, computer programming, consulting, and other related services – 43.3%, data hosting and processing services, web portals – 9.6%, software development – 5.5%, and repair of computers and communication equipment – 3.4%.
At the end of 2024, small business entities created added value amounting to 753,226.9 billion sums, or 54.3% of the total added value in the economy. The share of agriculture, forestry, and fishing in the total GVA of small businesses was 33.9%, industry – 12.6%, construction – 10.1%, and services – 43.4%. The share of small businesses in key sectors of the economy was: in agriculture, forestry, and fishing – 95.8%, construction – 78.4%, services – 49.8%, and industry – 25.9%.
At the end of 2024, the gross added value of the informal and shadow economy in the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to 505,650.1 billion sums, with its share in the gross domestic product being 34.8%. Of this, the gross added value of the informal economy in the Republic of Uzbekistan was 383,643.7 billion sums, with its share in the gross domestic product being 26.4%. The gross added value of the shadow economy was 122,006.5 billion sums, with its share in the gross domestic product being 8.4%.
In 2024, the structure of the informal and shadow economy in the sectors of agriculture, forestry, and fishing accounted for 63.6%, construction – 41.3%, services – 40.1%, and industry – 8.9%.
